The Non-Resident Fellows Program at the Maritime Centre of Excellence (MCE) brings together experienced academics, policy professionals, and senior practitioners who contribute research, analysis, and strategic insights on maritime security and related domains. Fellows participate remotely while shaping MCE’s research outputs, events, and external engagements.
• Write research articles, policy briefs, spot analysis and op-eds on maritime security
• Participate in MCE seminars, roundtables, and conferences
• Support MCE research initiatives and funded projects
• Collaborate with MCE faculty and research teams
• Represent MCE in national and international academic networks

We welcome applicants with the following background:
• PhD in International Relations, Security Studies, Defence & Strategic Studies, or a related discipline with minimum 5 years relevant experience
OR
• MPhil (preferably enrolled in a PhD program) with 3–5 years academic or senior professional experience and a demonstrated record of research or policy impact
Fellows are expected to produce high-quality peer-reviewed research and policy-relevant op-eds in reputable national or international forums during their tenure. All outputs must clearly acknowledge MCE affiliation. Fellows are also required to represent MCE at conferences, seminars, workshops, and academic or policy forums to enhance the Centre’s research visibility and outreach.
